Sergio A. Ortiz (San Juan, Puerto Rico) has a B.A. in English literature from Inter-American University, and a M.A. in philosophy from World University. He is a retired teacher. His poems have been published in Salt River Review, Yellow Medicine, Autumn Sky Poetry, and Rust and Moth.

Ortiz's poetry previously appeared in the September and December 2009 issues of Apparatus Magazine.
